11 Weeks Old

Emmett is now 11 weeks, and the time has flown by!  It is hard to believe we almost have a three month old.  I guess I can't say he's a newborn anymore.  Emmett is smiling all the time, and laughed for the first time on January 10th but hasn't since.  He loves to stand up and look around.  He really enjoys lights and ceiling fans.  I think it's about time we invested in one of those activity gyms.

We had an awesome trip to California the first week of January and were able to see our friends and family.  Andrew and I started school the day after we arrived back home, so it has been very busy.  Andrew is taking 20 units in addition to volunteering driving the ambulance in town.  He is getting his EMT and majoring in Criminal Justice at the same time.  (Imagine: finally falling asleep after 3:00AM due to baby needs, and the alarm screams "CODE 3 CODE 3" - its exhausting.... I mean, exciting)  It has been challenging adjusting to both of our opposite schedules so we integrated a Poop/Eat/Sleep board in the kitchen in order to communicate with each other when we have to switch in a rush.  

We started Emmett in cloth diapers at the beginning of the month and it couldn't be going better!  I heard all the horror stories that it would be so much more work, and time consuming, but I was very steadfast and couldn't disagree more.  Emmett has severe allergies and the cloth diapers along with organic laundry detergent have been incredible.  Even daddy is loving them!  

AND we put together the crib my dad designed and hand made for Emmett, it's beautiful!

California Trip!!!  We miss warm weather almost as much as our friends and family! (8-9 Weeks)
