17 Weeks

Emmett Joel is 4 Months old today!  He is talking non-stop (mostly in the middle of the night), he smiles constantly and even giggles.  We are so blessed to have such a loving, cuddly, happy, and healthy baby.  He is very close to rolling over and is becoming more interested in his toys.  He made a new best friend at Barnes and Noble, which we couldn't resist buying because he loves to hug, talk to, and taste his friend's nose.  This week Emmett has transitioned from his bassinet to the flat portion of his pack and play.  He is still in our room, but we look forward to him moving to his crib in the next few months, when he is up less often at night.    Emmett has been teething but doesn't care for teething toys.   Praise the Lord for Orajel, it has been our only saving grace.  Some days it seems that unless he is sleeping, he is constantly crying.  It is hard for us as parents to see him in so much pain, and to not accept any form of help we can offer.  Between colic and teething, we have to take shifts in order to save our patience and sanity for our poor little uncomfortable boy.  We know this is just a phase, and hopefully soon he will find comfort in his "soothies".
